The Turning Circle (a story about a young man bemused by fatherhood who decides he has to learn how to ride a bike) won the Varilux Short Story Award. In the past I’ve been shortlisted for: the Bridport Short Story Prize, the Fish Flash Fiction competition, Mslexia Women’s Short Story Competition, and the Molly Keane Short Story Award.

I am a contributor to: 26 Designs, published in the first issue of Fiera Magazine, to several projects with the ’26’ collective, a group of people who ‘work with words for a living’, and the BecauseIAmAGirl blog, the Plan Ireland campaign to fight gender inequality. I have contributed to the Irish Times, UCD Connections, The Gloss, Woman’s Way and have written for RTE R1’s Sunday Miscellany and the Book Show.

This photo is ghost signage that appeared after weeks of rain and wind in Weaver Square, Dublin 8. It’s a short story in itself, right there, on the wall.  IMG_2253
